“the stock market is not responding to any actual risk inherent to the corona virus, but only to risk believed in the minds of whoever is making decisions in the Chinese shipping industry.”
Yes, it was.
The chinese shipping industry isn’t making any decisions right now. They’re losing their shirts. They’ve been shut down by the government. Even IF the shipping industry was open there wouldn’t be anything to ship. Nobody is making anything right now.
Why is the market crashing?
Nobody is making anything in China (other than maybe babies because everyone is home...)
No product, no sales.
No sales, no profit.
No profit, market sells.
Perhaps you think, for the sake of your investments, that the chicoms should just sacrifice 2-4% of their population to death and another 20% to severe longterm health consequences to ‘keep on keeping on?’
Otherwise I fail to understand your kvetching about ‘the market’.
IMHO ‘the market’ isn’t done with this downturn. Not even close. In fact, IMHO, this is the first inning...
Just dont forget to buy low.
Lots of opportunity coming from this temporary stock downturn!
