Very informative as to initial source of 1918 Spanish Flu, manner and speed of spread globally with grim world map graphics. Of particular note is the three waves of the mutating virus, with the second wave having been the deadliest.
The American death toll of was greater than all battle deaths from WW1 to the Afghan/Iraqi wars up to 2018.
It’s amazing the 1918 flu spread worldwide given the slow, expensive and relatively rare transportation available then. I imagine that the troops returning from Europe after the Armistice in Nov 1918 were a major vector bringing it to the US. That would have been the perfect timing to introduce a new disease to North America.
