Something I was pondering last night - there is chatter that this escaped from a lab in China.
But what if it came from us? Our three largest enemies are China, North Korea, and Iran. And while we haven’t heard from North Korea, the biggest impact is to China and Iran.
It’s the Italy thing I haven’t figured out. . .
Say a family in Italy were visiting the wrong part of China at the wrong time. Went home asymptomatic or what they thought was the sniffles. Four could infect a dozen or more and off you go!
Well....
1.) If it could provably be traced back to us, the Chinese (and a few others) would have justification to unleash holy hell on us, up to (and including) the ol’ canned sunshine we’ve been trying to keep Iran from getting....
2.) Given how much of our commerce comes from China, and Asia in general (for better or worse...I say worse), we’d be committing economic suicide to do that. The economic impact of this bug won’t be a short-sharp-shock to be quickly recovered from with domestic production...you can’t just instantly recreate an industrial base that was frittered away over decades. And all the dollars dumped into the market by the Fed won’t restock empty shelves and nonexistent parts needed for domestic assembly.
Personally I think the Chinese got hold of the virus from overseas—that lab in Canada maybe?—and careless handling by their own lab employees let it get out before they understood what they were dealing with, let alone worked up an antidote.
Italy has had a large chinese expat population since the late 70's.

That has crossed my mind a few times. I have no doubt this virus was planned by either China or the Western powers or drum roll: the Davos folks wanting a real world reorder. I thought at first it could have been China wanting to wipe out the West to become world supreme power and it backfired on them wiping out the Asian race.
hint: airrplanes
There are towns in Italy that have lots of Chinese. Many of the 5 million who left may have gone somewhere besides other parts of China.
The bat is out of the bag. Now third party players can make a cool bioweapon easy peasy lemon squeezy and fling it at an old enemy.
