The author is spot on. It’s the economy that is worrisome, not the threat of suffering from the virus medically.
Hmmmm. Even that one is slightly broken.
ive never been to a goat roping. but ive been to oklahoma.
My thoughts exactly. In my rural area getting the actual virus would be unlikely, however certain vital supplies not being available would be an issue, like blood pressure medication and such.
I have thrown back a little extra food and the always needed toilet paper and I had a box of N95 masks I used for grass cutting but otherwise I am mainly trying to get my medications refilled on a three month script. I think this virus will show how bad our pharma companies have sold out our ability to manufacture vital drugs when the SHTF.
I wonder if the number of flu related deaths this year, when compared to years past, will show no significant anomaly. Other than articles written about...the flu.
There was a major “correction” coming anyway, but this virus has sped-up the decoupling of world economies, and we may get the correction sooner than later.
If I lived in a big city instead of a rural area I would be stocking back lots of extra food and meds—lots and a firearm because if they go into quarantine it’s going to get dicey.
Well, that's one way to approach FUD. But "When in danger or in doubt, run in circles scream and shout" has been another popular strategy for millennia.
I’m not. It’s finally sunk in to my thick skull that all of the diseases, all of the wars, all of the murders in the world since the beginning of time have not increased the total number of deaths by. even. one. We are not bodies with a soul; we are souls, eternal beings, with a temporary physical body. And as such, temporary, physical actions in the body will have eternal, spiritual consequences for each of us. Ephesians 2:1-5. The enemy is personal apathy and casual sin. That’s what I fear.
This is a virus you are likely to get. You are very likely to live through it with no lasting affects. In fact you will get this virus and it will be little more than a mild flu with a long lasting cough.
That said. A million people or more will die. Some of those would die no matter what. They are old or they have hypertension and bad lungs. Not much can be done for those folks. If they can hold out two years, they can get the flu shot when it comes out in two years.
The reason we are trying to stop this flu, is because it spreads so fast. This can overwhelm the health care system. And more people will die who could have been saved. If we all get it at the same time, the masks and the oxygen will not be available to save the sick. Or limit the spread to people who need to be healthy long enough for the flu shot to become available. If the flu runs through America right now, as fast as it ran through China, between 2 to 4 million people will die. That is assuming 60% of the population gets the disease. And the 2% fatality rate is about right.
But if we can slow it down. Then 60% will get the disease over 3 years. The oxygen will be there to save half the severely sick. And the flu shot will save those who have been able to avoid the first two waves of the virus. Either way, 98% of the population will survive. The virus does not kill the young. And the people who survive it, may not get it a second time. Slowing it down will save millions of American lives.
Lets hope Calif does not have a big earthquake. DOUBLE TAP.And the virus is off to the races.
Somebody post the Airplane gif; please.
Thanks.
“Dow down 1015. I expect an additional 6,000 drop.”
I think it will drop 200-2500 but we need this healthy correction
And some people have no idea what they're talking about and urge us to trust our incredibly useless, failed institutions.
Some on freerepublic :-)
we is a roping goats right now as I type...we got some bucks who have let it be known they are NOT entering the worming chute or the runway to the head catch...so we herd them into a small pen and rope them...mostly likely not the kind of goat roping your speaking of....never been around the world...but we knows how to rope a goat....me panic all the dang time....
The death rate has always been 100%.
