Italy has vast numbers of Chinese workers who are allowed in to produce those "Made in Italy" products - the same way we allow (often-illegal) Mexican workers in to produce "Made in the USA" products. Some companies even make garments and leather goods on cargo ships anchored offshore using all-Chinese workforces who can't legally enter the country, but can still produce "Made in Italy" products.
There are many, many possible Wuhan connections among Italy's immigrant workforce.
