I read somewhere that it’s a good idea to stock up on pool bleach than bottle bleach, because you can make a boatload of bleach with the pool tablets. Can anyone confirm?

Yes, I have a package from Ebola times.

Bleach starts deteriorating at six months. Problem is, when is that? I haven’t bothered to look closely to see if there’s an expiration date on the bottle.

You have to be careful storing pool bleach/shock.

It will start to deteriorate metal items, in your garage, if that’s where you’re planning to keep it.

Here’s more info on how/where to store pool shock (bleach)....
