At the stage of my life where I relive memories of childhood, school, old friends, marriage, raising my kids, moving around and career choices.
The following is a list of people I met and exchanged a smile or two.
Worked with John Rousakis, mayor of Savannah, GA. Tony Snow was in the DC physician's office where I worked. Carlton Sickles, the father of the DC Metro, also in the doctor's office - he gave me his 35 year pin. Worked with Patrick Hope, became a State Rep for Virginia. AG. William Sessions and I were jaywalking in DC and nearly got sideswiped by a car. Met Cal Ripkin on a plane. Sitting on a flight, next to a pilot who asked me what my favorite plane was - and I said "the F16". He whipped out an F16 pin and gave it to me. Reading an article in the Washington Times, I decided to call the paper and comment.... Emmett Tyrell answered the phone... he was charming and funny;)
My tiny brushes with celebrities....quite sure they remember me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He bought a hand full of us pitchers of beer, between sets.
I met Kevin Bacon when he was 17. He and his brother Michael were starting a band.
Damn, that six degrees thing is true! Now I am two degrees from Kevin Bacon.
Long ago, my sister and I were standing on a sidewalk when Bob Hope drove by, driving his own Cadillac convertible.
When my sisters car broke down in a residential neighborhood, she knocked on a door. Who should answer, but Bruce Dern!
Bumped into Mitt Romney in a hardware store.
Back before he got a worse reputation, Presidential hopeful John McCain spoke with my Dad and I for about 10 minutes.
Stumbled on a movie being filmed in Long Beach. Stood around and watched for a while. Director yelled, cut 10 minutes, and Robert Mitchum came off the set walked up to me and asked if I had a light. I did. Then I said “WOW! Robert Mitchum, I always wanted to meet you!” He said “ What’s your name?” I answered and he said “I always wanted to meet you!” lol...
Met 6 MOH winners in my life. That is the high point. Oh and Reagan.
LOLs! Well, you know he was from Philly. Everybody knows everybody in Philly.
