Yeah this thing should not be political at all, but, OF COURSE it’s political anyway. If it goes full on zombie apocalypse (sorry bad humor) then you’ll see what people are really made of.
Depends on a lot of uknowns that the last 2 days have not made any more optimistic - how easily it spreads, and how deadly. The MSM has done a good job of promoting the 2% CFR as if it were chopped liver, I even heard from a family member today “well it only kills 2%, even if I get it I probably won’t die” - to which I sputtered yeah maybe they’d be ok (smoker in their mid 70s) IF you are able to get top notch treatment at an ICU, which will all be FULL if this thing really hits!
I don’t quite follow the logic, it is as if some doctors riding skittle-shedding unicorns are somehow swoop down and save the day. They don’t get that while our healthcare is one of the best in the world, our health agencies aren’t necessarily the best. I believe the bureaucrats and the policy tie the hands of the healthcare professionals too much. Anyway, I keep telling everyone, our healthcare is only good if there is a bed for you. And this flu could have have 66 people vying for one ICU bed.
