The Prince of Wales has issued a stark warning that humans have just ten years left to save the planet.
“We really do have to pull our fingers out now because the theory is we have got this decade left,” he declared.
Prince Charles was marking the 50th anniversary of a landmark speech he made on the environment by calling for nature to be put back at the center of modern life.
In 1970, he had warned about the problems of plastic waste, chemicals being discharged into rivers and air pollution caused by factories, cars and planes. This was regarded as “completely potty”, said the Prince.
There was also derision for his practical solutions, like a bottle bank at Buckingham Palace or installing a reed-bed sewage treatment system at his Highgrove home in Gloucestershire.
Speaking in an interview on the Sustainable Markets website, the Prince said: “Everything we are doing has been to destroy our own means of survival, let alone the survival of everything else we depend on. But at the same time, we seem to be unable to understand that there is an alternative way of doing it, which is to put nature back at the center, value everything she does and build from there, and now there is an amazing amount that can be done through the circular bio-economy.” …

I totally agree! We were raised with respect- for institutions, the environment, our flag, our communities. It’s in the very nature of a conservative. I always used common sense in regards to so-called climate change. My assumption is that weather patterns are changing like they have in the past. We’ve had ice ages before. Life & nature are cyclical. They’re just inventing an excuse to impose their socialism as always. I am totally in favor of making the environment better & moving toward cleaner everything & less waste. But, why do we need to redistribute wealth & create a huge government to do it. We dont!
Well, for crying out loud, Charles. You do know that 50 years has gone by since your dire predictions and the world is still in one piece, don’t you? I think if I warned anyone something drastic would happen when I was 50 years younger than today, I wouldn’t bring it up to remind them how lame it was!

Agreed! I just adore her! She’s been a steady hand & really dignified! I’m not hopeful about Charlie. He, randy Andy & Meghan/Harry are just a nightmare. Best thing she could do is hand things to William & Kate. Long live the Queen!
Nobody in the world has as much of an elitist entitlement attitude as Prince Charles ...and the ‘weakest’ royal of all.
The majority of the english think that as well.
