Yes, Blago is a Dem, but outside of the Michael Madigan/Obama/Daley "insider" group; so he got super punished for a "crime" he did NOT commit!

If you’ll take the chance, I will also. I agree with you. It’s been some time since I read the book about that case and I seem to remember that he did a lot of talking but he wasn’t very successful at carrying out any of the things he talked about. I thought it was all pretty one sided at the time he went to prison. For Chicago politics, his crime was pretty mild IMO.
