A few decades ago, one driver barely survived a crash, and was in a coma for weeks.
Somebody tuned the tv in his room to NASCAR, and he woke up in the middle of the race, and saw “his” car on the track, and his first thoughts were why is [other driver] driving my car? He’s a good friend, but why is he driving my car?
It is clearly evident that Hamlin Bump Drafted Blaney into Newman.
Both Blaney and Newman got out of shape; Newman moved down the track (to block Blaney? Or trying to regain control?) and Blaney rear ended him.
IMHO, had Hamlin NOT been allowed by NASCAR rules to Bump Draft Blaney, it is possible that the wreck would not have happened.
“Bump drafting” should be illegal.
Kyle Busch is largely responsible for a different type of bump drafting, which is now referred to as “two-car drafting”[citation needed] and “tandem drafting”.[8] At a 2007 test session in Talladega, he asked Ryan Newman to push him from behind, and was stunned to realize he was two seconds faster with Newman’s help. At the newly paved Daytona International Speedway in 2011, Busch was the first to realize that the corners were smooth enough to allow a two-car draft for the complete length of the track. During test sessions on the track, when Busch was pushed by his brother Kurt’s Penske Racing teammate Brad Keselowski, they ran 15 mph faster than single cars. Other drivers quickly picked up on Busch’s strategy, and the two-car draft dominated the 2011 Daytona 500 and Budweiser Shootout.[9] This strategy had also been very prominent at Talladega. In 2011, two-car tandem drafting was used for the extent of the Aaron’s 499, with many drivers drafting their own teammates (e.g., Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. drafted together, as did Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin). For the 2012 season, the Sprint Cup series cars were modified in a way that made the tandem impossible, in order to return to pack racing. In 2014, bump drafting was banned by NASCAR in the Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series.[8]

Thanks for you Post.
If bump drafting was illegal, Newman and Blaney wouldn’t have passed Hamlin. That’s how they got the lead. And yes, Newman was blocking Blaney and Blaney was blocking Hamlin.
Hamlin did nothing wrong. Blaney did nothing wrong. Newman did nothing wrong. These accidents happen.
Does it really matter? We've seen them already and my comment regarding the Twitter account you posted remains the same. You don't have to watch the video to read the twitter crap...............
Regardless, Hamlin bumped him and spun him out and his spotter could have given a s#it less.
It is a miracle Ryan Newman is alive today. Praise God.
Agree! Drivers were drafting that way all day long. Newman went down the track for a block. Blaney wanted to push and they just did not match up the bumpers. It happens.
Nothing more incisive and correct than a stay at home TV analyst who wasn't there and wasn't involved in the mad dash to the finish.........
I salute you sir, you are a true professional couch analyst of NASCAR...........
Twitter is trash and so are internet analysts such as you.........
Not even going to get into a pissing contest with you bro since your opinion is just as worthless as the millions of others discussing the race..........so don't go there.
As a last follow up to my prior post, with an average speed of 210 MPH, it ain’t your local freeway and crap is bound to happen. But for you to claim it was intentional shows you have never been in one of those cars on that track.........
Show me the articles that have the view from the Fed ex viewpoint. Also the one with the spotter telling Hamlin how to win and talking about the wreck.
Tell me where you saw them BEFORE here.
your having to search wikipedia for nascar facts along with starting multiple threads on the subject after being confronted prove you’re not a fan and just trying to stir up emotions from people that obviously don’t know anything about nascar racing...
Driving close to 200 MPH?
wrong about everything you say....and that was the quickest thing to help explain for people that don’t know..I am busy betting tennis. and picked the first thing that came up that I saw.
I watch Nascar to bet. I watch Tennis to bet. I watch College Basketball to bet. I watch all kinds of sports to bet...even XFL
I won on Hamlin but was rooting for Jimmie Johnson. I would have won with him too. Hamlin paid out 12 for 1 bet. Johnson would have paid more
so you’ve got a gambling problem on sports you know nothing about...
got it...
btw, I could care less about soccer but I watch it. Bores me...but I just made enough to..well...both teams SCORED in the Dortmund /Paris SG match.
So dont tell me I dont watch sports.
Yeah, how did I know you would say that.....nope not a gambling problem.
And no , I am not a fan of any sport...I watch them all. What happened to Ryan Newman was pretty heartbreaking..and I watched it real time.
