I know we all want to believe that everything is going to be ok, that like SARS this will merely go away. I know my prayers ask for that every day. I have family in China, so of course I pray for them.
But Ive lived my life hoping for the best while preparing for the worst. This has the potential to change modern life as we know it. The worlds manufacturing hub of everything has lost its edge - in everything- almost overnight.
Going to China has always felt like a nation of tweakers who all won the lottery. Reality bites hard.
After many millennia of crowding together, the people of a China are now finding peace and solace in being separated from each other, and seeing the relative safety of living in the countryside. Things we have always believed in out West here in the US.
At the end of the day, I love the people of China, while I hate their communist overlords with all my soul.
