The 1000 case was supposedly from a CDC text between an official at CDC and a friend of hers. The man’s son saw the text and posted it on social media. When they tried to ask her about it, she blocked them on Twitter. I posted a link but it must be a source not allowed on FR.
It’s just a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. Rumors are gonna fly, though, if the CDC is not transparent.
