Proposed bill would require men in Alabama to get vasectomy

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WIAT) — A proposed bill in the Alabama Legislature would require all men in the state to get a vasectomy within one month of their 50th birthday or the birth of their third biological child, whichever comes first.

The bill, HB-238, was proposed by Rep. Rolanda Hollis on Thursday. The proposal also states the procedure will be done at the man’s own expense.

The bill simply states that “under existing law, there are no restrictions on the reproductive rights of men.”

Hollis said on Twitter that the measure would “neutralize” the state’s abortion restrictions.

The bill is currently in committee. If it is passed, the bill would go into effect the third month since its approval.

This woman’s rationale is really stupid and tries to compare apples with asteroids. And, it’s insulting to women, too.

Women aren’t animals which are subject to mating instinct. They have a mouth and can say. No. They also have greater access to a wide variety of contraception options than men do.

Both men and women are responsible for the choices they make, and men should never leave contraception solely up to women since men are impacted by pregnancy, too.

Women have the choice to keep or abort. Men don’t have that option. If a man wants an abortion, he can’t have one.

If a woman wants to trick a man, she can get pregnant. If she wants to blackmail him she can do that too.

If he wants his offspring, he can’t unless she says so.

If both parties were denied contraception, the playing field would be equal. If men had as many contraception options available to them as women do, the playing field would be equal.
Men have zero say as to the lives of their offspring.

Women might be ‘trapped’ into giving birth, but men are trapped having to support an unwanted child.

The playing field would be equal if both men and women were forcibly sterilized by age 25.

I don’t advocate forced anything, but this lady is insane.
