Women of any color didn’t vote in the 1860s.
I did a report on her in high school, 45 years ago. She carried a gun and she knew how to use it. She related more to Lincoln than Jefferson Davis.

Well most of her life was in the pre-R era.

She fought with the R’s

She fought against the D’s

So I would say she is a very solid R !
