The story doesn't give much detail, so maybe something is left out. But: two guys are breaking into a building through the roof. They run when police officers arrive. The officer sics a trained police dog on a fleeing suspect with the command to bite and hold. The perp is caught. He needs some stitches on his calf for the bite, but he's clearly guilty.
This gets turned into a criminal case against the police officer? And she gets 10 years? Why? What are police dogs for? Can't they be used? Maybe the officer should have just shot the fleeing suspect in the back. Heck, the typical first degree murder convict is out in seven.
This was in PG County, MD. What was the real offence? Policing while white?

Something got left out is correct.
This is just her side of the story.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire. Or both.)

And people wonder why increasingly some cops seem to take their time, sit in parking lots sipping coffee, etc. Too bad she caught the thief. She must not have mastered the art of turning on her siren 4 blocks away as she rolling in at 20 MPH.
BTW, just an aside. Wonder what became of the burglar.
