I think Apple may "skate" this one because most of Apple's acquisitions are related to getting access to patented hardware technology. That's why Apple bought PA Semiconductor in 2008 to develop its own chipsets for the iPhone and iPad and an Israeli company that developed a dual-sensor system cellphone camera system, a technology that made its way to the iPhone 7 Plus model in 2016 and now found in the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro models.

Amazon, Facebook and Alphabet (Google) could face much more serious scrutiny because of their huge influence on the retail sector (Amazon) and the Internet (Facebook and Google).

I used to work at a company that was bought by apple. It was subsequently sold off by them though.
