The Marines would love it. BUT fixed wing Marine Corps aircraft must be carrier capable. The A-10 isn’t. *sigh*
I would say Army, but as I understand it they only use Rotary Aircraft.
I guess those Air Force guys can give me one of them.
Airframes strong enough, add a hook. Remember the marines got the Corsair because it was thought that it wasn’t carrier friendly.
Maybe it's time for a revision - the A-11 Warthog!
A policy which only made sense when it took longer to build a runway.
And a policy which has never been strictly true anyway.
Which aircraft carrier were C130s and C141s flying off of?
Grew up flying, 2 sons are pilots, 1 in Navy, and seems to me the A-10 could easily be adapted to be carrier-based..........it’s a low-speed aircraft after all.
Will check its VsubR airspeed........
I dunno, I mean it does fly slow, but its limitation is the challenge to mount the tail hook on backwards.
No clock in the cockpit, they have a calendar. . .
That are also the only jet we have that takes bird-strikes from the rear. . .
I miss my days flying the last of the cowboy manly jets. . .
