Trump supporters don't have the problem of faking hate crimes because if we wear a MAGA hat in public there's a good chance we'll get hurt. Black people haven't had that problem with the KKK in 50 years. The closest many of them have ever come to a real Klan member was if they visited the United States Senate when democrat Robert Byrd (KKK recruiter) was leader of the Senate.
Or if older when democrat President Johnson was in DC.
The real Klan - the one connected to the Democrat Establishment in the 20's, 30's, up to the 60's and early 70's is dead. What's left are some misfits who would have a hard time keeping a job at a 7/11.
Yes, there have been many fake hate crimes where liberals pretended to be the KKK (Oberlin for one). Or you might see see one being dragged around by the Southern Poverty Law Center to 'show people' they still exist. ( and yes, the SPLC has done that in the past - grooming nutcases to use as fund raising tools and to hoodwink the FBI.
I lived in the Jim Crow South - the real thing - the real KKK was a horror. The wannabees are powerless fools. If you weren't alive during that time read the book 'Black like Me'... it'll give you a feel for what it was like for black citizens in the Jim Crow South.
