Got news for you, Hillary. Democracy has been “in-crisis” since you and your husband fired all the US attorneys the week your husband took office in 1993. Those prosecutors in the Roger Stone case were beating a dead horse, and they knew it. They are trying to get away from a loser case before it sucks their careers under. Totally different situation.
The prosecutors in the Stone case were corrupt and vindictive. They lied to DOJ about what punishment they were seeking and brazenly pushed ahead to attack Trump thru Stone. This was a manufactured process crime that should have never been pursued. Hopefully, Barr will revisit all of the Mueller prosecutions, which are the fruit of a poisonous tree. Weissmann needs to be investigated and censured.
