“We knew there was a group of about 270 on the ship who were potentially exposed.”

Latest: “The cruise line has tested just over 490 out of the more than 3,700 passengers and crew on the ship so far, the Japanese Health Ministry said, and more tests will follow in the coming days.”

So about 35% of those tested have been positive - but those tested had symptoms that made them good candidates for testing.

I have an observation to point out about the cruise ship in Japan.

At some point this situation will end. All the infected people will be taken off the ship and sent to Japanese hospitals.

So what’s the conclusion to the quarantine? All the healthy, non-infected passengers were kept off of Japanese soil. All the infected passengers were sent ashore.

If the purpose of the quarantine was to keep the virus “out of Japan”, the end result will be the opposite. All the sick people go ashore and the healthy were kept out of Japan. Ironic.
