39 new cases in Japan. They were found on the Diamond Princess cruise ship off Yokohama, raising the ships total to 174.
Galveston island would be an acceptable option, as they have a designated isolation lab/facility.
Bring in military, or some sort of barges, to accommodate the non-infected , during quarantine time.
Its better than being held prisoner on this freaking ship.
Nobody will ever get on this ship again. Might as well sink it afterwards
And don't forget it is a ship registered in Bermuda.
Cruise lines avoid American registration to avoid our legal entanglements and regulations, among other considerations. - Tom
I thought, at first, that your post said...No one will ever get on a ship, again.
Cruise lines are SUNK!!
Time will tell.
Transportation of 4000 possibly infected people risks spreading the disease worldwide. How about another option? There are still uninhabited islands in the world, how about a vacation on the beach? Airdrop supplies and wait it out...
“would you want all the passengers moved to Houston? “
You do realize the US brought back HUNDREDS of citizens from Wuhan and are being quarantined in military camps right now. Yes I support that. Some are being quarantined in Texas as I recall (outside of San Antonio?). I support them being quarantined in Texas!
I actually support Trump sending a plane to Japan and bringing back any Americans on that cruise ship. Yes they can come to Texas! I wouldn’t quarantine them in Houston proper, but on a military base.
I saw an American on the cruise ship asking Trump to get him home.
We don’t leave our people “behind”.
Renaming her probably makes sense.
They might have to give away cruises at ridiculous prices to those brave enough to book that ship.
If they can claim, we took these steps to sterilize the ship and we’ve had 3 cruises and nobody got sick, people will start to come around.
That’s an idea. All cruise ships. Pretty major refit, though.
Good. You’re not a hypocrite.
I disagree with you, but I respect your opinion.
Physical layouts indicate no connection.
bkmk
I don’t ‘get it’.
The evacuees would be moved to secure locations. Not released into the population.
Not a nimby situation.
At the time it wasn’t known that the virus aerosoled and transmitted through the air.
Though common sense said it would, the scientific evidence didn’t.
Peace
IMHO, you’re asking the wrong question. The correct question being, What is the racial makeup of the infected?
They won’t report it. Moot point but key to understanding why this bug isn’t behaving like Spanish Flu anywhere but China.
99% of those infected will be people who went to Hubei Province.
So the racial factor won’t be helpful. They’ll be all Asian of course.
Alrighty, then. /s
“/s” LOL!
Well, maybe someday the info will be useful.
I was joking. But many readers would feel that the safest situation for them and the population on land would be to keep the quarantined on the ships.
I ‘get’ that you were kidding the guy, but most people are compassionate enough that they would approve of a safe quarantine of the passengers.
A few thousand could be safely quarantined. Which would be enough for this ship.
Man, would I hate to be on that ship LOL!
