A friend in the army sent me a video showing generals and admirals blabbing on about global warming as some kind of existential threat. I thought, these are commanders who have lost the plot... or maybe were Obama era suck ups.

The Pacific Ocean alone could hold almost all the land on earth, including all the ice, and still only New Orleans and Venice would be below water.

Wonder what has happened to the equally idiotic “Green” fuel they were using (biodiesel am told and additives etc.) Which was clogging fuel lines and diesel machinery. Totally idiotic idea, and may have affected the disaster that is USS Zumwalt.

Yep - not wasting time and money of crap and if anything changes where they need info, you can bet they’ll get it...but when you have a 20 year plan and what you’ve been ‘preparing for over the last 10-11 years hasn’t even shown a vestige of itself, it’s time to modify the plan...and stop planning for something that ain’t happening.
I did some contract work at a ocean research lab. Lots of folks were concerned that the lab would lose work when Trump came in - getting rid of all of the environmental stuff.
The guy in charge laughed. Said something like “That happened when Obama got elected too. Under Bush we were researching lots of defense related things. Temperature effects on torpedo guidance, measuring contaminants for nuclear leaks, etc. Now under obama we measure temperatures for global warming and contaminants for environmental reasons. But we’re still doing the same thing!”
I assume that the people involved will be reassigned to Ultima Thule and McMurdo sound.
