If we let ‘wokeness’ get in the way of dealing with Coronavirus, we’re going to find MUCH BIGGER racial stereotyping than Americans simply avoiding Chinese grocery stores.
Think WW2 and how ‘unwoke’ we were to the Japanese. Nice, patient, considerate people (as in most people in the US) have a way of getting very mean when they see their family under a direct threat.
It is best to leave ‘wokeness’ at the door when dealing with this and do what Israel does regarding airline security - which is to identify the most likely terrorists and treat them differently. In this case, while I love Asians (literally), as a group they’re probably 20 times more likely to have been in China (especially Chinese nationals) in the past 2 months than non-Asians...something to think about.
Should people die en masse, in a known Communist country, why should I, a citizen of the land of freedom, not be surprised? It happened in other Communist countries, and where was ‘Vox’ then?
They need help and we need to find ways to help them and help ourselves, too.

Are they any less healthy. I doubt it. I grew up on a farm, I’ve often jumped off a tractor...or a horse and ate a sandwich after working half a day.

EASY to understand in a Democracy. It’s the natural state.
50% of the population has an IQ below 98 in America, and it’s getting worse as we import more from countries where the average IQ is under 80. And they breed to excess.
That anyone could expect otherwise is what’s incomprehensible. Even the Greeks understood this, and after them the Romans.
The Founders thought they built a firewall against it in the Senate, supported by the Bill or Rights.
All they did was slow it down.
