I think Manson was brother Dennis's buddy...not Brian's.

It was Dennis Wilson who had a relationship with Manson. Dennis arranged a recording session for him at Brian’s home studio. Brian and the rest of the BBs thought Manson was bad news.

On the Album “20/20” There’s a song “Never Learn Not to Love” credited to Dennis. It’s a reworking of a Manson song, “Cease to Exist.” Manson was not amused.
