Due to unfortunate past experience I do know that burning human bodies have a rather distinct odor. If there’s some sort of major crematorium activity going on, anybody downwind will know it’s something unusual burning. The odor is somewhat like pork but very unsettling.
I Know . I’ve smelled that smell on the E train in Queens,which is underground, right after 9/11.
