I visited someone in a U.S. hospital about 4 years ago and was surprised to see obese hospital nurses wearing common marks of drug addicts, playing with grimy smartphones and using so-called hand sanitizer instead of washing their hands. The walls were slightly sticky and greasy. Exhausted patients were too often awakened for checks and tests.

FYI, hand sanitizer is the preferred hand washing medium when there is no obvious contamination of the hands, but for two reasons: formal hand washing facilities may not be available at any given moment (used by others) and proper hand washing to be effective requires technique and time. (I don’t really care about the “downside” of using water and paper towels in an American hospital) so they promote hand sanitizer and they put it everywhere. The bottom line is that hands treated with sanitizer are better at fighting infection than hands that aren’t washed because people are in a hurry, or they don’t use the proper hand washing techniques under running water.

They have been teaching that for years in every American hospital.

Don’t know about greasy walls, and good hospitals have active programs to work towards and maintain quiet environments, but the fact remains that many patients have to be awakened at inopportune times for some testing to be performed.

That’s simply a fact. We have poor hosptitals in this country, no doubt.

And I am sure there are some halfway decent Chinese hospitals, but nobody is flocking to China to have medical procedures done there, even though we do have people from all over the world coming to our hospitals in America.

There is no equivalency, not even close. A tyrannical communist regime that brags about making care free to all of its 1.4 billion people delivers health care that would not cut it in the US.
