Grapefruit? Slowly I turned...
I don’t know why but every old person I talk about meds with, seems to be very concerned about grapefruits. They interfere with prescription drugs, or whatever. Somebody should write the song: “I can’t eat grapefruit!”
You would think they’d put a warning label on it.
If you are on blood thinners (which seems to be more and more persons) grapefruit..it can cause bleeding. (as can CBDs BTW)
It’s not just old people who have to avoid grapefruit.
Grapefruit juice reacts with a whole host of drugs.
Antihistamines, corticosteroids, anti-anxiety meds, statins, blood pressure drugs, arrhythmia drugs.
It often seems like “what does it not react with?”
If you take any medicine and like grapefruit you need to make sure it isn’t going to cause problems.
Well it’s not about grapefruit but the sentiment is the same.
