Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg caught flack after a viral video from a campaign stop in Burlington, Vt. showed him shaking a dog's mouth instead of his paw.
In the awkward encounter, Bloomberg first shook a man's hand before shaking the open mouth of a dog and then scratching the top of his head.
Although the dog appeared unharmed, some social media users were wounded over the exchange.

Very awkward.
(How long before someone jumps in to defend Bloomberg)
Too bad it wasn’t a pitbull that would have shook him like a rag doll.

Here's how it's done, son.
Bloomdork.
You think he's a lizard people
He’s lucky he didn’t have to have a dog surgically removed from his wrist.

Buttigieg's problem is his limited funding (compared to Bloomberg), combined with a lot of deadweight from his policy of reserving 40% of campaign jobs for people of color (i.e. blacks and Hispanics). That 40% is contributing diversity, but not a lot of productivity.
Good; private businesses have to pay the “diversity tax” by hiring unproductive tokens, and Mayor Pete should as well.
How’s that working out?
Oh please.
I’ve done that with dogs before.
Look at the video. The dog loved it. Dogs like it when you touch them around the mouth, or even put your hand in their mouths.
It’s a nothing, dog didn’t mind.

Agreed, Don’t like Bloomberg but from the video it looks like he’s a dog lover and had a good read on how the dog would respond. My dog likes this too and will sometimes initiate the contact by grabbing my hand. Mongo is a 125lb Rottweiler but when he does this the force wouldn’t crack an egg.
Is Nanny Bloomberg an alien?
I agree.
If your approaching an unknown dog, never reach towards its head with your palms down.
A person should always put their hand out, palm up, and come from under the neck to the side of the head slowly to gauge how receptive the dog is to a stranger. Nor should a person lead in with their face.
I do this with my Cane Corso and my Boerbel, which I raised. I also never go eye to eye with them, but approach from the side and then hug them.
But that’s just me.
I wondered how soon that would be posted.

This was probably rehearsed like most photo ops, so I suspect they’d gotten acquainted.
I’m surprised how many people don’t know any basic etiquette for dealing with dogs. My Rottweiler is very baby faced and is always smiling and wiggling in anticipation when someone new is around. I’ve had several people nearly throw their arms around him before I stopped them. He probably wouldn’t care, but still bad judgement on their part. I try to politely educate them
I saw a Cane Corse for the first time when I rescued this guy. A beautiful and impressive dog!
My Sherman is a big as they come and is very lovable, but you have to be careful because he gets so excited after a good hug and petting that he will start to buck like a bull coming out of bucking chute.
He weighed 190 at 9 months the last time we took him to the vet. Since we give our dogs all their shots we haven’t been back but we estimate him to be about 220 which is about 100lb heavier their the breed standard.
He was in the house for about his first year and would sleep in our bedroom, but he snores like a freight train and farts like mule so we moved him outside on the patio by our bedroom sliding glass door. We can still hear him snoring all night. His first dog house was the extra large dog igloo but his shoulders were too broad to fit through so I had to make him a dog house.
If President Trump ever wanted a dog in the White House,I would definitely recommend this breed. Stately and very imposing as well as loyal and a good family protector. I think it would also make for some very interesting press conferences with him by the President’s side.
