I think this is the consent decree. If so, holy moly...
Let me guess, COO China
Whoa—this looks like half the supplements industry.
Big Med Deep State strikes back?
Hard to imagine they have evidence to recall all these brand formulations for the last six years.
This seems instead just to be a regulatory kill of a rival industry.
Interesting. Their owner: Mohammed Jahirul Islam.
This is from the decree.
Really hard to tell from this distance is he was just pumping out junk in an unregulated industry or they wanted to shut him down and found ways to do so via technicalities. E.g., how many of our restaurants don’t get caught with some healthcode violations at some point, which they generally are given the opportunity to rectify?
“According to the complaint, the FDA documented numerous significant deviations from current good manufacturing practice regulations during at least six inspections of ABHs facilities conducted over the past several years, including failures to: conduct at least one appropriate test to verify the identity of a dietary ingredient; verify that finished batches of dietary supplements meet product specifications for identity, purity, strength and composition; include required information in batch production records; and properly review and investigate a consumer complaint.
In addition, the complaint alleged that ABH and Islam further violated the federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by distributing unapproved and misbranded new drugs into interstate commerce. For instance, as alleged in the complaint, ABH made claims on product labeling that such products could be used to treat such medical conditions as cancer, heart disease, HIV and AIDS, even though the FDA had not approved those products for such purported uses, nor were there any published adequate and well-controlled investigations showing that such products are generally recognized as safe and effective for any use.”
Thru Nov 2019
Whoa
I know, but I just thought the first date was funny
When I googled ABH and clicked on it, it took me here
Same employees. Are they just relabeling?
“...Same thing happened years ago with Chinese kibble killing dogs ...”
Yep. That crap killed our little Chihuahua at the time. My wife was thinking she was feeding her good stuff. When she found out what killed her, she wanted to nuke China over it. I can’t post what she thinks about the contravirus.
Bkmk.
DOW!
Yup, but that doesn’t mean the supplements aren’t made in China.
My golden retriever was a victim too... I had switched away from Pedigree for a year - biggest mistake ever. That was the ONLY major brand that wasn’t buying cheap poison from China.
I understand how your wife feels - but I also blame the 99% of dog food companies that spent more money on fancy advertising and not on quality products for their dog food.

It wasn’t Chinese kibble - it was a limited voluntary recall caused by some plastic in the production process.

from link:
Franklin, Tennessee On Saturday, June 30, 2012, Mars Petcare US announced a voluntary dog food recall of a limited number of three varieties of Pedigree weight management canned products due to a potential choking risk.
Affected product may contain small pieces of blue plastic which entered the food during the production process.
In the past, I had some BioSchwartz probiotics, but they are gone now. I currently use BestVite, or Best Vite as it is listed, for several supplements, so I called them about the recall, and was told that they had NO PRODUCTS affected in the US, and only one that was sold overseas. BestVite seems to be a great company, very good prices and quality.
