good thinking but Could be too late
Some Hong Kong doctor/researcher was talking about models that they ran, and said the quarantine of Wuhan didn’t lesson the spread much. Of course he might have been talking about how the actual quarantine went. 5 million people escaped prior to the closure!
He did talk about how if this is seen to be passed on to third parties (now confirmed) that extreme measures must be taken to shut down transportation, etc.
And he said that it should be sooner rather than later. Heck - we put a ban on airline travel after 9-11 in an instant - everyone survived. Do the same RIGHT NOW. In two weeks assess the situation again.
Secondary spread has started in Europe and SE Asia. We may learn of it here in a few days.
My experience in smallpox planning leads me to believe that we are not able (not willing) to do what is necessary.
Of course the flights should be stopped.
