Facebook names director of its $130million ‘Supreme Court’ oversight board as human rights advocate Thomas Hughes - and even CEO Mark Zuckerberg won’t be able to overrule him
Hughes is a former director at freedom of expression rights group Article 19
He will now oversee the social media giant’s independent oversight board
That means ruling on thorny issues, such as when a post constitutes hate speech
The board, which will grow to 40 members, will be able to overrule Zuckerberg
It is part of their response over how to handle problematic posts on their sites
