She names the thread based on the date in China which is now morning of 1-28 there. That is when new info on the virus is released from Chinese authorities. She has been naming it that way for the past week. Please allow the thread to stand, it is important. Thank you.

I agree that the Chinese are under reporting the total number of cases. What scares me is if they are under reporting the total number of deaths from the virus as also.

Not being dramatic or alarmist, but I have to believe there are a lot of folks dying at home. The problem with social media coming out of there is impossible to pinpoint. The only reliable voices are those from people who have previous relationships with residents in those cities—and that is a small sub-set.

The deaths may be way undercounted as well.

Much more plausible to undercount people sneezing than to undercount bodies in the street, buried in the back yard, "secret" mass graves, etc. Obviously we don't know the accuracy of either number but there's no comparison between the uncertainty ranges for the two numbers
