Hey, how about if they don't show up, they get a FAILING grade. Jeesh.....make students take some responsibility to show up on their own and out of a sense of learning......or is that too much to ask from today's generation ???
Exactly! When my oldest daughter was 13 she wanted me to get her a cell phone so I could call her and tell her when to come home. I bought her a watch and told her what time to be home and she could suffer the consequences if she were late.
When I was in school many of the profs didnt care if you showed up or not, except for scheduled tests. Not their problem.
Sheesh, these students are ADULTS! Who cares if they show up for class? If they master the material, turn in the homework, do well in exams, and get good grades, it doesnt matter if they are in class or not.
If they fail...well, welcome to the cold, cruel, unforgiving real world.
More nanny-state / helicopter parenting crap.
