Earlier this month, the Netflix documentary produced by Barack and Michelle Obama, "American Factory," was predictably nominated for an Oscar for best documentary. In response to that news, I expressed my belief that the documentary was nominated simply because of the Obama connection, and I stand by it. I said at the time that "it's a bit hard to believe that this documentary would have earned this nomination had they not been linked to the project."
And I also made the following observation and prediction:
Barack Obama has already won two Grammy awards for Best Spoken Word Album, and Michelle Obama was recently nominated in the same category for her memoir, Becoming— and I'll bet a thousand dollars she'll win.
Well, I wish someone had taken me up on that bet because I'd be a thousand dollars richer tonight. I don't watch the Grammys or follow any coverage of them, but it was reported Sunday afternoon that she had won.
I'm sure it will go right next to her husband's Grammys and Nobel Peace Prize on the mantel of their fireplace.

Wow. You can read aloud your own ghost written book, and get an award for it? Wow, how nice for her. Sounds more like a participation trophy than a real award for real achievement, but, the Obama name is magic and gold in the liberal world. And the liberal world includes the entertainment world, not just politics.
Yeah, this is kind of like bragging that you predicted the sun would rise in the east.
She should also get a pulitzer and a Nobel Peace Prize and any other bullsh*t prize that helps her chances to become La Presidente....//not//
Big deal. Her old man got a Nobel Peace Prize after being in office for a few weeks. Top that, Big Mike.
I bet they called him beautiful too.
Awards don’t count for much anymore, they depend on who is awarding them.
With that in mind, I herewith begin my own Awards awards:
best politician and political leader of 2019?
Winner: Donald J. Trump.
More than that he got to be President of the United States of America despite the Constitution saying he couldn’t.
ALL award shows—whether for literature, journalism, science, sports and even entertainment—have now devolved into liberal self-congratulation and policy advancement awards.
The media is breathlessly waiting for the Dems to rig the primaries and open the door for big Mike.
He was nominated for the Nobel weeks before he took office.
