It used to be that the chief function of the Vice President was to attend the funerals of foreign dignitaries. That was before recent Democrat Presidents turned the Vice Presidency and cabinet offices into opportunities to shake down foreign countries for millions of dollars.

So now the function of ex-Vice Presidents is to offer condolences on the deaths of celebrities? Have Walter Mondale, Dan Quayle, Al Gore and Dick Cheney chimed in?

My take is it is just Joe Biden's way of saying "look at me! look at me! I'm important!"

What's really sad is that all I heard all day was Kobe, Kobe, Kobe.

It wasn't until tonight that I heard that 8 other people died in the crash, including his daughter.

This is a tragedy for all of their families.

Bryant was an entertainer.

He played a child's game that was unwillingly subsidized by the taxpayer and became very, very wealthy.

He did some good things and some bad things but hopefully he was on the right side when he passed.

More sorry for his young daughter.

The other victims have names too, though I haven't heard them.

I think it is one thing for the President of the nation to say he is praying, or asking people to pray. He is the leader of the nation.

Joe is a crook who is trying to be President, and is obviously using this incident to his own benefit. If Joe really does pray to God (and I doubt he does), he could have done so privately and sent condolences privately.

But where's the PR profit in that?
