If she enjoys them, whats the problem?
Yes, to me tattoos look like dirt
Hmmm... To verify "desecration" you would have to lick each tattoo many many times to see whether they are real or just stick-ons...

11 Ugh with the tattoos. Everyone has a tattoo. Theyre ugly. Even on an Airborne Ranger and theyre allowed. Desecration indeed.
14 Leviticus 19:28: Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.
16 Wow, there is actually a verse about this? Gotem. Thank you.
30 "Leviticus 19:28: Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD."
"Leviticus 19:27 - Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard."
Hmmmm.
36 Excellent reply! Hardly anyone follows the entire Bible... people pick and choose what they feel comfortable to follow. Such b.s.
40 Yes, there are departures from the Old Testament - even during the early days of Christian faith. Coptic Christians were often discreetly tattooed with a cross, just to gain admittance to a church (apparently church security was a thing back then, too).
There were also pilgrimage tattoos sought by visitors to Jerusalem - and in fact, those same tattoos are still available today, in Jerusalem. I would find it difficult to view those as ugly or a defilement.
44 God tells us not to paint our bodies. I believe in Leviticus.
45 I am willing to bet there is a LOT in the Book of Leviticus you do not obey - and not all of it is explicitly abolished in the Book of Hebrews (or elsewhere). You do not get to pick and chose which parts of the law you want to cling to. The Jerusalem Council said so.
49 However, I also know the difference between Judaism and Grace and what Paul preached. I know there were some in the early church trying to throw brothers and sisters under the yoke of the law that didnt apply - and the Jerusalem council was VERY specific as to what they could NOT do...and Paul was very specific as to what applied to Gentiles and what did not.

****
Iirc, this had to do with people shaving off parts of hair on head or beard to identify with specific cults.
51 We are under grace but that does not invalidate the law.
53 Superceded by the instructions in the New Testament. We dont keep Old Testament/Jewish dietary law as Christians either.
FWIIW, Albert Mohler Jr., president of the (SBC's) Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, wrote a commentary on tatooes sometime over the last 10 years. Sadly, I could not find the link. From my memory, he wrote that the OT scripture in question in Leviticus pertained to "ceremonial law" and not "spiritual law". Therefore the early church fathers did not forbid it.
