I do not follow sports anymore, but I notice that there are many athletes today who are often in trouble. DUI, Sexual stuff, etc.

I never remember hearing Bryant’s name mentioned in that context. I think that is remarkable. That is why I and perhaps others have more of a sad feeling for this gentleman and all the attention. He seemed unique.

He had problems while in basketball HOWEVER after leaving basketball he became a truly wonderful family man AND did MANY, MANY things to help kids in ghetto areas not only money wise but time also!! He sent many kids who did not have the money to go through college the financial means they needed to go to college paid full boat for MANY, MANY kids!!! Dropped off and picked up his own kids from school everyday HIMSELF!!!! Whatever his sins during basketball ENDED after basketball and he became a true role model to HIS kids and many, many, others!!!

Like most players of his era Bryant trashed around with women he wasn’t married to.
There was one rape allegation against him in 2003 he admitted to the sex but denied rape. His accuser refused to testify so the charges were dropped. The 19 y/o girl brought a civil suit and Bryant paid her to go away.

Once away from the game Kobe rediscovered his faith and settled into a good life with his family.
