While it is sad for anyone to die, the media is acting like a iconic liberal Democrat President died--

Didn't this guy get major media coverage some year ago when he cheated on his wife?

Then maybe he is just like an iconic liberal Democrat President.

Our society is way overboard in worship of celebrity. It is tragic that anyone should die so young, especially a man with children. Even more tragic is his daughter died also.

But, he’s just a person. We have hundreds of men and women who do much more heroic things than Kobe ever thought of with their lives who die every year. One example, in September of 2017 30 members of Seal Team Six died in a helicopter crash. The media reported it in a normal fashion, but not wall to wall with sad music and endless interviews and tributes to their greatness. They were great. Kobe was talented. Every week military service members die with a simple note buried in news reports. They are heroes.

It should have been reported in the news media and highlights of his career noted. Then other news of much more national importance should have been moved on to. Much more indepth coverage of his life and career should have occured on sports networks, which is continues to be ad nauseum.

The national news spectacle on this is WAY overdone and leaves me shaking my head about how misplaced our worship is.
