The thing is, China, as Mariner has pointed out, and we have seen confirmed in the past, is a near perfect incubator for such outbreaks. No “bioweapons” labs necessary.
Odd as it might seem, there’s a factor I believe even Mariner (and I, until tonight) may have missed. The infectious capability (viability) of a virus in the air, on non-living surfaces, etc., decreases with time and temperature. That may be why other populous countries with seemingly similar environments for respiratory viral development, but much warmer climates, seem to produce fewer such outbreaks.
Seems like eating monkey meat and bats produces these outbreaks naturally.
