Thank you, L'il J, for sharing your expertise on essential oils. I knew about lavender for its soothing effect, and I knew about the great smell of other oils (as used, e.g., in Poo-Pourri), but I was clueless about potential medical benefits.

Is there a relevant book that you trust?

I can post links to my favorite books. I usually have about 70 different EOs on hand and have used them for a long time, I make blends for specific conditions for family and some clients or friends. I am not much into ingesting them though. Tried a little but has to be done ultra carefully, with extreme moderation, and not for any length of time.

Maybe the Natural Healing thread would be a good place to discuss, I love to share what I know if it helps people.

I have cured a very bad burn with Lavender oil (plus cold water and clay), very miracluous, and minor burns easily with Lavender, can be put directly on the skin, one of hte few EOs.
