not sure what that has to do with your not quite true comment regarding Brave browser.

Fast, powerful, but most importantly it’s not related to Ghoulgle.

it pretty much is google.

Brave is a chromium-based browser.
chromium was developed by google.
all chromium browsers drink from the google well

Have you ever used Brave ?
If you use it will you continue to use it?

I wonder if Google is what the bible is talking about John and Daniel referred to Gog and Magog.

No time to read through those that have gaps in facts.

Your logic is akinn to:

Donald Trump is a Republican.
Mitt Romney is a republican.
Therefore, Republicans form a party comprising some liars, back stabbers, and two-faced con artists.
Given this, would you vote republican?

Here’s your info gap:

Brave is based on Chromium, and Google Chrome is also based on Chromium. Chromium is an open-source browser project with many contributors, both from and outside Google. Chromium as a common base, with Brave and Chrome executing as extra layers on top. The Chrome layer is proprietary to Google and is closed source. BRAVE, ON THE OTHER HAND, IS COMPLETELY OPEN-SOURCE.

Given that Chromium was a project originating at Google, it contains code that phones home reporting to Gulag. BUT BRAVE REMOVES ALL SPY CODE so that privacy remains protected.

https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/wiki/Deviations-from-Chromium-(features-we-disable-or-remove)

When one tries to promote a Chromium-based application, a wise view would be to inspect and read about what the application has done to rid the open source Chromium base of its Google spyware.

So your snark about all browsers drinking from the Chromium well is a real Schiff twist.

And yes, the politics of the Trump era are very relevant because the moods and perspectives of populations following a general Trumpian trend also filter down to the tech level where ethical design considerations take root. Yes Virginia, software developers do indeed account for ethical considerations in their general designs. Those that don’t are grist for the Gulag mill.

Maybe that's the look the Alphabet people were going for.

I use it a lot. After the first few uses, it launches slowly, in my experience.

Sergei Brin’s parents, his sister-in-law and so forth need to be brought down and are being brought down. They’ve been put on a path to elite, condescending, globalist, effete snoots.

Did Brin and Page really invent search engine tech? No.

DARPA had it decades before these two buttholes ever saw a line of Assembly Code.

FB the same. A movie “The Social Network” sought to glorify Zuckerturd as some sort of new titan of tech when in fact FB started inside DARPA as ‘Lifelog’ and was handed at a late stage of development to MZ on a Pelosi platter and then backed by laundered intel funds to grow a gargantuan spy tool.

Whereas Gulag took DARPA search engine tech and was given the order to develop a platform that would lead the ‘curious’ internet searchers to results that were presubscribed thereby dumbing down the public “it’s true because I googled it and it said such and such”.

wow...you just can't ever admit you were flat out wrong...

you use a goofy political explanation in a discussion of Brave Browser to avoid the actual point\question put to you ? about your own statement ?

"Fast, powerful, but most importantly it’s not related to Ghoulgle"

You can't read, either.
BTW...I didn't say "all browsers drinking from the Chromium well"

I said: "all chromium browsers drink from the google well"

I didn't see "find features we disable or remove" using the link you provided. It might be there but I didn't see it.

Braave does have googles setting you can turn on or off

https://www.idgconnect.com/idgconnect/news/1500732/brave-browser-goes-chromium-adopting-google-ui

https://www.zdnet.com/article/brave-defies-googles-moves-to-cripple-ad-blocking-with-new-69x-faster-rust-engine/

so much for "...not related to Ghoulgle"

Next time stick to the topic.

Re: Brave Browser.

Slimjet is my goto browser. I use Brave as a backup browser and it does a fine job. No complaints.

Thanks, upchuck. I like Brave, but there are functions it won't do that I find vexing (or that I haven't figured out how to do):

Won't let you set it up to open a second link in a new window

Won't let you go to a link from History onto a manually-opened slave window -- it reverts back to a tab on your original window

Won't let you drag a photo into a text posting box

Won't let you drag a photo from Brave onto the desktop

As noted, these may be my fault. Otherwise, I like Brave pretty well. How does Slimjet compare?

I have used Brave on my phone for a couple of years now. Fast, kills ads, and doesn’t hog data. There are a few sites that it doesn’t work on, for some reason, but everything else is good.

Slimjet comes with an ad blocker. But I like Ad Block Plus better. So I disabled the built in blocker and added ABP and Ghostery to stop the trackers. Also added Reader View which is handy for getting around site that insists you disable your ad locker.

Slimjet does a good job. I use Brave as a backup browser and for sites that don’t like Slimjet, few and far between.

Hostage,

“This” will be the last time I post to you.
I apologize for my snark. I apologize for my Mr. Know-it-all attitude.
I apologize. I am wrong. You are exactly right about Brave and their overlaying code that disconnects from google.

FreeRegards

I ended up resetting all the settings to default. So far so good. No YouTube ads so far.
