My 1st major rock concert was Blue Oyster Cult opening for Uriah Heep. Whew!
The concert that seemed the oddest was Foreigner (quite good, but not blow you away stuff), with some black guys who looked like some sort of rap-dance band, but played ROCK, as an opening act. I can’t remember their band’s name, but they were actually pretty good.
Ozzy / BS I never saw in concert. But they sure did some memorable stuff. Parts of the “Paranoid” album, if you can get a pre-loudness wars copy, are some of the best audio quality recorded heavy rock one can find. Stunning dynamics and clarity.
It seems ironic that a druggie, then still a druggie, and was for a long time longer, sang “Hand of Doom”, which did as much to scare me away from drugs as anything else. For that, I’d say “Thanks, Ozzy”.
I saw him 2x when zak wylde was his lead guitarist. One of the show’s where my uncle bought my tickets.
I’ve seen BOC back in the day.
