The problem is there are too many casinos now in the northeast US. First the Atlantic City casinos were losing business to the CT Indian casinos Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.
The Seneca Indian tribe built Turning Stone casino between Utica & Syracuse, NY. Another couple opened in Niagara Falls and Hamburg, NY just south of Buffalo. There are 3 around NYC now.
Then a casino opened in RI, The Oxford Casino opened in ME, the MGM opened in Springfield, MA. Finally, Steve Wynn spent $2.5 Billion on the Encore casino in Everett, MA (Boston)that opened in 2019.

We are oversaturated on casinos. IF I was going to go to a casino. The LAST place I would go would be Atlantic City.
