LONDON (AP) Terry Jones, a member of the Monty Python comedy troupe, has died at 77. He had been suffering from dementia.
Jones's agent says he died Tuesday evening. In a statement, his family said he died after a long, extremely brave but always good humored battle with a rare form of dementia, FTD.
With Eric Idle, John Cleese, Michael Palin, Graham Chapman and Terry Gilliam, Jones formed Monty Python's Flying Circus, whose anarchic humor helped revolutionize British comedy.
Jones appeared in the troupe's TV series and films including Monty Python and the Holy Grail and The Life of Brian.
In 2016 he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
Jones's wife, Anna Soderstrom, and children Bill, Sally and Siri, said we have all lost a kind, funny, warm, creative and truly loving man whose uncompromising individuality, relentless intellect and extraordinary humor has given pleasure to countless millions across six decades.

Will they accidently knock over his urn like they did Graham’s?
Lol - I haven’t seen these skits in years, still funny. I remember as a kid, Monty Python was on late at night (PBS I believe). I snuck a portable B/W TV into my room just to watch them; my parents likely wouldn’t approve.
Bummer. RIP.
Definitely not. Especially the naked women.
Me too — I watched it whenever I could and my parents didn’t know that it should have had an R rating.
Me too. Me too.
I found myself at political odds with most of them, but...I still love their work and quote them often.
RIP, and thanks for the laughs!
An article that explains some about FTD...
Terry Jones: Ive got dementia. My frontal lobe has absconded
Perhaps he’d prefer a “waffer- thin” mint ...
Im wearing my The Ramones parody sweatshirt right now.
It says Romanes in the Ramones red font and where it would say Johnny Joey Dee Dee Tommy around the circle it says, Biggus Dickus Incontinentia Buttocks.
RIP, you great comedian.
yes... i too did the same... and received my first fuzzy glimpse of a woman’s bare breast... in b&w made it artful, not sleazy.
Hilarious we had the same experience !!!
Yes. And I bet that we weren’t the only young boys watching it and their parents didn’t know. After all PBS had Sesame Street. There was no nudity and sexually suggestive scenes. Not at all. :)
are you my little brother?
“No, no,He’s not dead! He’s resting?”
It says something about Monty Python’s influence that when I googled this line “He’s not dead yet!” and “He’s not the Messiah!” outocompleted before it came up.
MRS. GREGORY: Blessed are the cheesemakers? Ahh, what's so special about the cheesemakers?
GREGORY: (Sniffs) Well, obviously, this is not meant to be taken literally. It refers to any manufacturers of dairy products.
They were all great in their way.But Cleese and Palin were the best. Python was really painful to watch after Cleese left.
Lumberjack.

Ok, for Terry’s funeral, let’s make sure his casket has plenty of Spam, Crunch Frog chocolates, wafer-thin mints and a bucket!
I say Ni to this!
