In some ways yes. The Corona Virus causes pneumonia - which could easily be life threatening to anyone with COPD or those with susceptibility to Bronchitis, etc.

The graph is no more “terrifying” for this virus than the flu, so far as deaths.
The flu also causes pneumonia and is life threatening to those with respiratory disease. It would be interesting to compare the death rate for this virus and influenza
