Cotton I think it is you and Ms.B that have had eye issues.. I recall you were both prescribed drops My ophthalmologist recommended Refresh (over counter but pricey). for dry eyes, not necessarily the macular degeneration.
I think you’re talking about Cottonball and myself. I am now using Refresh Plus which is not as harsh as the plain Refresh per my doctor. It is a little more costly than the simple Refresh. Minimum of 4 times a day in each eye and yes it gets very pricy. The best price I have found is on Amazon when buying the bulk package.
When the doc recommended Refresh I didn’t realize how many there were. I went to a local food store that has a decent health and beauty section. Must have been 12 different kinds. I called the office and gave the secy the question and a nurse called me back a short time later and told me the two he wanted me to use. One is Refresh Relieva and the other is Refresh Optiva Mega 3 with flaxseed oil. He also mentioned to rub both lower and upper eyelashes with baby oil a few times a day.
I think everyone just needs to try multiple drops and see what works for them. Too bad. There’s not a sample package of the different brands. But every drop has a slightly different pH, as if everybody’s eyes. That’s why some people prefer one drop over another, when they match.
My favorites have hyaluronic acid in them, Which helps to heal the cornea. When people get dry eyes many times the cornea can have scratches or erosions. Hylo Forte is made in Germany but can be found on Amazon. Oasis Tears plus also has it but they are quite expensive.
