I was under the impression that if they weren’t on the floor of Congress where they can lie to their hearts content, shades of Harry Reid, they can be held accountable.
But they never are unless they are a pubbie like Steve King who was stripped of his committee assignments because of alleged racist comments.

That’s my understsnding too, but I’m not sure. None of the lawyers sent a reply yet, but I’ll check back. That’s one of the reasons I posted - so I can more easily find it later to check.
