Jan 05, 2020 · John Mellencamp, the folksy musician who scored a slew of hits in the 1980s, has donated $50,000 to his hometown of Seymour, Ind., for a plaza that will honor his numerous accomplishments.

He also gave the community the art center. Southern Indiana Center for the arts. It’s across the highway from his parents place and feature both his and his mother’s art work.
