Media’s ‘Death By 1,000 Cuts’ Strategy To Take Out Trump
The media’s impeachment crusade was never designed to remove President Trump from office. It was just another attempt by the media to portray him negatively while signaling to an already-exhausted electorate that they’ll keep tearing our country apart with their partisan hatred unless we choose someone else in 2020.
It’s important to start with an understanding of why the media hate and fear President Trump with such unhinged ferocity…
Let’s first define the swamp to make sure we’re on the same page: The swamp is Democrats, establishment Republicans, the politicized wing of the intelligence community, a majority of the “career” bureaucrats and other grifters (consultants, advisers, staffers, etc) who support them all, and the corporate media which serves as the marketing arm for the entire disgusting thing.
Second let’s recall why they all fear Trump so much: It’s because they exist in the swamp as parasites, feeding off We The People who serve as their primary host. And Trump promised to drain their swamp, which would starve most of them out and leave them with nothing. So for the swamp and its many monsters and parasites, stopping Trump isn’t a matter of principle. It’s a matter of survival.
As for impeachment, the media knew they’d never get a GOP Senate to actually remove Trump from office. Don’t get me wrong. They’d love to. But that was never their goal because they’re not stupid enough to think they’d ever pull it off.
And just like the vast majority of them never actually believed President Trump was a Russian spy who infiltrated the highest office in the world by stealing an election at the behest of Russian puppetmasters, they never truly believed he even committed an impeachable offense in his call with Ukraine President Zelensky. But they pretended to believe it because it means endless negative headlines for President Trump and anyone who supports or defends him.
The media’s goal is never to actually take Trump out with their outrage of the day. The goal is simply to make sure there is an outrage of the day, that it implies President Trump did something terribly wrong, and that every single one of us focus on nothing except that outrage.
It’s the media’s steadfast commitment to Trump’s political death by 1,000 cuts. And in this case those “cuts” are clouds they can put over Trump and any who dare to support or defend him, and “death” is the exhaustion of the electorate to endure any more Trump-related drama of the media’s making.
Granted, they’ll fail.
But the most critical thing we should be doing — pulling back the curtain to expose the media’s disgraceful attempt to meddle in our elections — is tremendously under-explored, under-appreciated, and under-communicated by the most powerful voices in conservative media and the GOP.
